For Spry founder Daisy Bridgewater, the boiler suit has always been the embodiment of feminine power. As a child in the eighties, her mother- always beautiful, often wildly unkempt- wore nothing but a bottle green boiler suit, big hair, and red clogs, whether taming the nettle patch, designing textiles, or on the school run. For her it was a do anything, go anywhere suit, and it made her fearless.
Whilst freelancing as a writer the seed of Spry Workwear was sewn. Working to deadline at the kitchen table alongside the persistent hum and chaos of everyday life, she spotted a gap in the market for stylish, purposeful women’s workwear that would celebrate the many disparate roles that make up every modern, creative woman's day. First would be a boiler suit to flatter not frighten, and soon a range of clothes to enhance life whilst protecting the wearer from it. These are not house coats. Nor, crucially, are they made of fleece.
Exclusive to the South West.
